Welcome to the exciting intersection of music and manufacturing! You might not often think of these two fields together, beyond their starting with the letter "M." However, the process of composing music shares many similarities with the steps involved in manufacturing design. As students create their songs in EarSketch, they’ll also be exploring the principles of the Manufacturing Design Process, discovering how creativity and structure can work hand-in-hand in both music and industry.

Objectives

Students will be able to explain the manufacturing design process through composing a song in EarSketch

Students will be be able to compare and contrast the manufacturing design process to music production

Students will be able to code a simple song in EarSketch

Students will submit their EarSketch Songs to the Manufacture the Music competition and will document the design of the song.
